As a Christian mom, when I feel like my joy has been crushed because of situations in life, I know exactly where to turn to be restored. Over the years as I’ve grown and matured in my faith, I’ve come to the clear conclusion that God is the only One who can fill any void within us, and He wants to bless us, give us good gifts, and joy is one of those beautiful blessings from Him.
I’ve learned that no matter what life brings, I can choose joy, I can choose to dwell on God’s faithfulness and walk in His joy which is my strength in hard times.

1) Spend Time In God’s Presence Where There Is Fullness Of Joy
Psalm 16:11 NIV says “You make known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.”
Spending time in the presence of the Lord can fill your heart with deep joy. Because true joy comes from Him, and He fills your heart to the fullest. There is nowhere else you need to turn, He offers the fullness of joy, and taking the time to just be before Him is restoring and makes you joyous.

Philippians 4:4 NIV says “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”

Psalm 118:24 NIV says “The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice and be glad.”
Celebrate today! And remember that today is the day the Lord has made, and there are blessings to enjoy today that you could overlook if you don’t take the time to enjoy them. Choose to find the joy in today, and rejoice because God is in control of each day, and each day has joyous moments to celebrate.
5) Remember That Through Hardships, The Joy Of The Lord Is Your Strength
Nehemiah 8:10 NIV says “For the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Psalm 30:5 NIV says “For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”

Christ offers abundant hope, and that alone is a reason to choose joy. When you live your life knowing that you have a glorious hope, that no matter what life looks like, that hope is there, you truly find a reason to choose joy in all situations.
