Children’s minds are like sponges, they soak in everything and it holds deep meaning for them. They have a desire to know the truth and it’s our responsibility as Christian parents to instill truth in their hearts.
My husband and I have decided to make Christmas ALL about Jesus for our children and I’m not ashamed to share that. It’s a beautiful time we have together as a family focusing on the Savior of the world! We want our children to get excited about the truth! We still do gifts, stockings, a family meal, a Christmas tree, and many other familiar traditions, but Jesus is more than enough and we don’t feel any need to add the extra distractions that they will one day discover aren’t true.
There is something so freeing and pure when Christ is the center of Christmas, He has given us a glorious reason to celebrate and it draws us closer together as a family!
